Spanish just like Portuguese, French, Italian, Romanian and Catalan are called Romance Language. They originated from “Common Latin” which is a language spoken by the Romans. Hence, they are called Romance Language or Romanic Language.

I know you are pondering if this is the “Romance” we mean? Calm down…there’s more to it. According to Viber, Spanish internet users send the highest number of love messages ahead of French, Portuguese and other languages. Based on their analysis, out of 10, 000 most used words in ten languages, Spanish came first as the most positive language because they use a lot of words relating to love and laughter. Portuguese came second, English third, French fourth and German fifth.

The Language is also considered the most romantic language because of the way it sounds.  For instance, “I love you” in Spanish is “Te quiero”. Did you get the romantic flow? It has softer consonants and longer vowels. This makes the language to flow easily while speaking and listening to it, it sounds sweet to the ear. Also, Spanish involves some verb conjugations hence, it is easier to create rhymes with it.

In addition, the romantic flair of the language is tied to its rich historical and artistic culture. It is the third most spoken language in the world after Chinese and English. The wide spread of the language has created many beautiful dialects and accents.

There are some Spanish words related to love that is widely used. Words like “Te amo” which means “I love you”; “Amor” means “Love” are common.
